From an ecological philosophical perspective (Bellacasa, Latour), the paper investigates new practices for a more-than-human design, interweaving speculative and material-driven theories and experiments. Inspired by neo-materialist reflections (Benett, Barad, Tripaldi), through a digital exploration and at different scales of magnitude, the essay illustrates new transdisciplinary processes and interactions using digital technologies and material manipulations to enhance ecological awareness. The research exposes joint experiments between two laboratories in different geographical and cultural contexts, such as Italy and China, through a series of operational procedures and theoretical frameworks and highlights how the "post-anthropocentric project" can be crucial for the development of a radically ecological material culture, identifying material speculation as the tool to approach such awareness.
